Paws of Morocco is/was a project in Tetouan, which mainly focused on the well-being of the stray cat population. The team organized neutering campaigns, took in injured animals and helped them recover with the help of local and international visiting vets. Thy built feeding and water stations throughout the city, educated the general public and supported a local animal shelter ..

I visited the Project for 10 day together with a colleague in 2020. We focused on a highly populated park in the center of the town, caught as many cats as we could, neutered them in the clinic of a local vet who kindly provided his space for this cause, let them recover over night, and took them back to the park afterwards. The local team checked on them daily until we were sure that everyone had recovered well. A few animals were presented with wounds, we gave them the initial assessment and treatment and they were transferred into the care of the team, and looked after until they were fit to be released again.

Sadly we were not able to establish contact anymore after the Covid-crisis, and the account has been silent since. We hope everyone is doing well there.
