Bolivia - Inti Wara Yassi
Inti Wara Yassi is a fantastic wildlife rescue and rehabilitation NGO , running 3 different sanctuaries in different parts of Bolivia..
They fight for animals rights, wildlife &, environmental protection and better education. Over the years they have built a great network, welcomed countless volunteers and rescued thousands of animals from wildlife trade, illegal possessions, injury, fires and deforestation. Animals that can not be released find a forever home in one of their sanctuaries, and are looked after by a dedicated team of vets, biologists and other caretakers.
For more information please visit their website, as it is such a diverse project and really worth supporting

I was fortunate to spend 6 weeks in Ambue Ari, one of their parks located deep inside the amazonian rain forest. The beauty of the forest, deep connection with the animals there, and the human bonds we formed, have forever left their marks on my soul..
My daily tasks involved construction work to help build eco toilets, the design of new cages for the new quarantine area, and - the highlight every day - several hours of taking Mariano for walks through the jungle... meet Mariano in the pictures below!
In the little free time that remained, I spent time with the resident vets to learn everything about wildlife medicine I could..
