Streets of Hope - the Stray Dogtor

Meet the Dogtor
Hello fellow traveler, I am Sam.. Forever roaming this beautiful planet to discover new challenges, projects, 2 and 4 legged friends and ways to make this world a little bit better.
Growing up on a farm in the mountains probably already set my path at a very young age. I was always surrounded by animals, nature and helping hands. My mother would regularly take injured wildlife in and I grew up with a variety of wild and domestic animals that I called friends.. Becoming a vet was always the dream, and after a few detours I finally graduated from Ghent university. Even before my studies I started visiting veterinary & wildlife projects abroad and got involved in the fight against rabies, wildlife rehabilitation, shelter medicine and neutering campaigns. Wherever I went, i made friends with dogs and cats on the streets, and over the years these connections became an integral part of my journey... Although i have a "normal" job in a veterinary clinic, my calling, my passion and my heart revolve around my project work and I hope that I will be able to continue this work in the future with a growing network of fellow minded humans, no matter their background. Every kind and helping hand is welcome!
I visited projects in Morocco, Goa, Fiji, Bolivia, Peru and the Dominican Republic over the last years, check out the individual project sites for more information and plenty of pictures. Contact me for information about individual projects if you want to get involved.
There is a great big world out there, with so much to do!
